Papers submitted to the Annals of Economics and Statistics should contain original work that has not been published elsewhere. Submitted manuscripts should be formatted for standard-sized paper with margins of at least 1.25 inches on all sides, 1.5 or double-spaced text, and 12 point font. We strongly encourage authors to submit manuscripts that are under or about 45 pages / 17,000 words, all included. The first page of the manuscript should contain the title of the article, and the surnames and first names of all the authors, together with their postal and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers. The corresponding author should be identified.
Authors should submit their manuscript electronically at https://editorialexpress.com/aes.
Editorial Review and Acceptance
The acceptance criteria for all papers are the quality and originality of the research and its significance to our academic readership. Manuscripts are assigned to an Editor on the Annals Board of Editors. The Editor first quickly reviews the manuscript. If the manuscript is screened out, the author is informed quickly. Manuscripts that are not screen out are sent for peer review by (at least) one anonymous referee and further reviewed by the Editor.
Committee on Publication Ethics
The Annals of Economics and Statistics subscribes to the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Conflict of Interest
Authors must declare any financial support or relationships that may pose conflict of interest by disclosing at the time of submission any financial arrangements they have with a company whose product figures prominently in the submitted manuscript or with a company making a competing product. Such information will be held in confidence while the paper is under review and will not influence the editorial decision. If the article is accepted for publication, the editor will usually discuss with the authors the manner in which such information is to be communicated to the reader.
Accepted manuscripts should be prepared according to the guidelines of the journal.
